The good folks at Calculated Risk provide some information concerning why it’s really a bad idea to play games with unemployment benefits.

Couldn’t agree more. I’m typically flabbergasted that some pundits seem to think that any significant percentage of the population is happy to stay on unemployment. Especially in areas which have the highest rates of unemployment (like here in California!) you can’t live anywhere on that.
