Kilimanjaro and Climate Change June 11, 2007

Some people who agree that climate change/global warming exists use the vanishing Kilimanjaro glacier as part of the proof. People who try to say it doesn’t exist love to point out that the most probable causes in the case of Kilimanjaro are other factors. Two scientists write that the “skeptics” are quite likely right in this case and I can just hear the hullabaloo they’ll make at this article which they will incorrectly cite as vindication. Why isn’t it? Because should the deniers attempt to paint it as such it won’t take much for the opposing side of the debate to point out that while Kilimanjaro might not serve as an example of the perils of global warming the last quote in this specific article shows that the authors don’t share the skeptics’

‘There are dozens, if not hundreds, of photos of mid-latitude glaciers you could show where there is absolutely no question that they are declining in response to the warming atmosphere’, Mote said.
